Micosoft Excel for the MAC I am extreemly disappointed in the quality of Excel for the MAC. I used the PC version up until a year ago and had stabitity probloems with the file system. The MAC version has many bug and is no where near as good as the PC version.
The equivalent Apple software to Excel is Numbers. Many people will tell you that Numbers has significantly less features then Excel, and they would be correct. Simple tools like removing duplicates, merging data, and some formulas are missing. However, the vast majority of the basics are there, including vast formula support.
This function is in the MS online version and the PC version, but strangely missing on Mac. The proposed solution is conditional highlighting, but this doesn't produce a list. I still have to scroll through the entire column to see each individual highlight.

Microsoft Multiplan (1982)
Before Microsoft Excel existed, there was Microsoft Multiplan. Multiplan was created to compete against Visicalc and Lotus 1-2-3, which were the popular spreadsheet apps at the time. Although it was released for a variety of computing platforms, such as the Apple II, CP/M, MS-DOS, Macintosh, Xenix, Commodore 64, TI-99/4A, and TRS-80, it never reached critical mass in the market.
